We are a family-run farm. Nicola started it, his son carried it on, today there is Nicolas, and in between there are fifty years of work on the same hills in the province of Campobasso.
The emmer field, in June
Emmer wheat is sown in autumn and cut when the ear is dry to exactly the right point, because a few days either side and it is no longer the same grain.
Our story
It starts with two people and an olive grove.
There are no changes of ownership and no changes of direction. There is a family that kept doing the same thing, better.
1970
The beginning
Nicola and Angelica plant the first olive groves.
Nicola Fucito and Angelica Cocco worked as farmers near Provvidenti. They bought their first plots of land and put olive trees in them, which is a slow investment, because a grove planted today will do its best work for whoever comes next. It is the first act of the farm, and it is already a statement of intent.
2nd
Generation
Salvatore carries on, and the farm grows in land and equipment.
The passion passed to the son, Salvatore Fucito, who did not change the trade but gave it scale. More land came, and more machinery, and with them the ability to process the harvest instead of simply selling it. What stayed was the value of tradition, the quality and the respect for nature, which have been the farm's stated mission ever since.
Picking with nets and electric tools. The method changed, the hands didn't.
Today
Third generation
With Nicolas, the harvest leaves the house.
For two generations almost everything we grew stayed in the family, and what was left over went to the neighbours. With the third generation Nicolas decided to make a business of it. He brought in the bottling and the labels, together with the techniques farming offers today, without changing the way we work the field.
That is when the oil and the passata started to travel. We take them to fairs and tastings around Italy, where people taste first and buy after, and it is still the best way we know to explain what picking by hand actually means.
Today we grow olives, tomatoes, emmer wheat and oregano. We sort vegetables and olives by hand, one by one, from sowing through to harvest. We bring high-quality food to our customers' tables without forgetting where we come from, using the only method we know, love for your own land.
Salvatore and Nicolas, the same working day. This is how the trade is handed on.

Tomorrow
Local tradition, without ever stopping looking ahead.
We believe in farming that values local tradition but does not stop there. Sustainable techniques, no pesticides, attention to the biodiversity of Molise. It is the way we found to leave the land to whoever comes after us in the condition we found it. Or better.
Provvidenti (CB)
A village of a hundred people.
Provvidenti is a small village in the province of Campobasso, with around a hundred inhabitants, no traffic and no queues. One restaurant-pizzeria, one bakery, one post office. Then silence.
The climate is temperate, the air is about as good as air gets, there is no pollution and above all the soil is uncontaminated. It is not a boast, it is the starting condition we try to deserve every year, and it is the reason what we harvest tastes the way it should.
